P93 injection pump

Post by Winchester1979 » Mon Jun 10, 2019 12:08 pm

Hi after 5 weeks of waiting my fuel pump has been rebuilt and it was a nightmare as the main rotor had sheared inside wrecking everything, I could not source a new pump or even a second hand one so I had to get a Bosch pump from a vw van which came with it’s own problems and no matching part numbers but the guy persevered and made a good one from the two
Now my question is what setting on the dial gauge am I aiming for? She is running but is heavy with exhaust smoke and lacking power also there is a constant ticking noise so I am guessing she is out of sink
Cheers...ian

Hi Ian

The knocking ticking noise is possibly the valves hitting the pistons. Take the belt of again and redo the timing make sure you have the correct timing marks on the flywheel there are more than one of them so easy to get it wrong.

The dial gauge setting should not be out that much if you have timed it up correctly

.78 to .92 is the dial gauge setting
